Fox Tie tack/ pin, Sterling silver tie tack with the impression from an antique wax letter seal featuring a fox.
This is an impression of an antique wax seal which was used to seal letters and correspondence.
It dates from the 1800's and features the image of a Fox..
Foxes are said to represent wisdom, shrewdness and wit. In heraldry, it is therefore a symbol of one who will use all his shrewdness, sagacity, wit or wisdom for his own defence.
This tie tack features a strong pointed pin that is 1cm in length and is perfect to pierce multiple layers of material. The stud back is also sterling silver and features a ‘pinch release’ system. This pin is awesome on a tie, jacket lapel, or bag. But is too heavy for, say, a t-shirt or blouse.

This tie tack/ pin charm measures 12.8mm and has a nice solid weight for it's size.

Wax Seal Jewelry......
Each piece offered for sale is an imprint or cast of an antique wax seal from my personal collection. I use 100% sterling silver as this has the strength and durability needed for a piece of jewelry that is to be worn for years. All the jumps rings, clasps etc, are also sterling silver and each part is soldered, also for strength and durability. My intention is to make a piece that could become an heirloom too and for it to last generations.
Each piece is individually handmade and therefore no two pieces will be exactly the same, they will however be extremely similar. The mark of the maker has been purposely left on the casts. The signs of age, cracks and tool marks all add to the charm of the piece and are an intentional feature.
