Dulce Periculum.... Sweet danger.
This is an impression of an antique wax letter seal which dates from the early 1800's.
It features the image of a riding boot, spurs and an arrow. In the banner is the Latin 'Dulce Periculum'.
This translates as 'Sweet Danger.
For the daredevils, the risk takers and the adventurous. The imagery is very symbolic on this seal. The riding boots represents the 'wild ride and journey of life' and the means with which to travel and explore. Historically to earn ones spurs were 'to gain a knighthood by an act of bravery', and the arrow represents 'Strength, bravery and protection'.
This amulet is a large one and it measures 35mm long including the bail ring and 25mm across. it weighs a solid 15 grams of sterling silver.
This amulet measures 36mm x 25mm (this includes the bail) and weighs 13 grams of sterling silver. (as each piece is made individually by hand these measurements may alter slightly).
You have a choice of buying the amulet on its own or you can choose the length and weight of sterling silver chain to hang it on.
This seal impression will come with an explanation card and an organic cotton bag.
