Eloquence and Knowledge
This cuff was made from the impression of two antique wax letter seals from my collection. These were used to seal letters in centuries gone by. These particular seals symbolise Eloquence and Knowledge.... Two of my favourite Characteristics in my favourite people!
Eloquence...
The image on the first seal features a Mermaid in her traditional pose, holding a comb and mirror. A Mermaid is one of the favourite emblems of the sea-farer. She has long been held as the symbol of Eloquence.
Knowledge...
The second wax seal impression features a raven. As a collector of bright objects, the raven stands for the symbol of knowledge. It is also the emblem for divine providence.
The two seals were set onto a sterling silver cuff. The cuff is a heavy sterling silver and it had been filed polished and tumbled to give it strength and shine.
The cuff can be bought in different sizes. Depending on your wrist size.... to measure please wrap a soft tape around the narrowest part of your wrist. Then add a 1/2 inch or 1 inch if you like it to be looser. The cuff can be squeezed gently when on the wrist to ensure an perfect fit.
