This is an impression of an antique wax letter seal. These seals would have been used originally to seal personal correspondence. This one dates from the 1800's.
It features the image of an antique Dolphin.
The Dolphin is an emblem of safe travel, as well as kindness and charity. Though the dolphin is now know to be a mammal and not a fish at all, older heralds considered it the king of fish, just like the lion was king of the beasts and the eagle was king of the birds.
In heraldry the dolphin is always presented bowed.
This amulet was made with sterling silver and each piece by SWALK is made individually by hand.
The back of the amulet it stamped .925 and 'SWALK'.
*** this piece measures 14mm across the middle of the charm and 20mm down ****
* please note the size of this amulet. These pieces are small! The pictures may make it seem larger then it actually is.
