Collection: Fairy forests and enchanted lanes.

Inspired by my favourite walk on the farm at dusk.  The ferns all look prehistoric in the fading light and the vegetation looks otherworldly.  There is a racket above as the birds are busy just before roosting. The swallows are bomb-diving towards flying insects and the buzzards are calling plaintively to each other. The crows are the loudest though and it's like a busy city in the treetops. 

The moss is like velvet under my feet and I crunch the occasional mossy branch.  There are hollows in the trunks and mushrooms under the trees that have grown on the farm for hundreds of years.. Who lives in a house like this? Are there fairies  waiting for me to pass?  is that magic in the air?  there is an atmosphere of patient expectation.  I do not belong here with the magic........ I am not part of it. but for a few minutes in the fading light I can experience the veil of the day dropping in deference to dark night.

I have picked different vegetation from my twilight walks and have made moulds of them.  I have tried to translate into silver the feeling of magic that I experience.  Using real plants, I have created silver plants, to mimic the real plants...... phew.
